Scissors And Stuff From Pakistan 中文 Presented by Nekaco Trade Impex
13 December 2006
The beauty trade actually involves a lot of cutting and trimming. Hair and nails needs to be trimmed, and cuticles need to be pushed in so that they do not become overgrown and unsightly.
It doesn't stop there- for hair, there are scissors for cutting, thinning, layering and snipping. For nails and cuticles, scissors and cutters come in all shapes, sizes and colours to suit different uses as well as the individual preferences of the user.
Some are gold-tinted, others have plastic handles or maintain their original silver of stainless steel. There are even titanium coated and rainbow-coloured scissors for the flamboyant!
All these and more are products offered by Nekaco Trade Impex, a Pakistan-based manufacturer and exporter of beauty and surgical instruments. Established since 1992, Nekaco started off as a manufacturer of beauty instruments such as manicure sets, tweezers, scissors and professional nail cutters.
"Our beauty instrument division is actually a spin-off from our core business of importing stainless steel," says Muhammad Bashir, Proprietor and Chief Executive of Nekaco, who lists Japan and Malaysia as the countries they import from. |
As their business grew, they started exporting their instruments worldwide. The humble establishment now exports their instruments to countries such as America, Belgium, France and Japan, and was in Malaysia recently to seek distributors or agents.
The strength of their products lie in the high quality of stainless steel used, explains Muhammad Farooq, Bashir's son who is in charge of the export division. This makes their instruments longer-lasting, unlike other cheaper but low quality instruments that are in the market.
"We also emphasise on design, where every pair of scissors or cutter has fine edges which will not snag on skin or hair during treatments," adds Farooq.
Their present clientele consists of both small and big companies, although Bashir frankly says that he prefers smaller companies as they offer better prices. "We're open to discuss business deals with any company regardless of size. As long as they are honest and are interested in our products, we're prepared to appoint them as agents," he adds.
Future plans for Nekaco include creating new designs every year, such as incorporating country flags or requested patterns on tweezers or scissors. They are also prepared to produce custom-made stainless steel instruments for clients.
